Robert Powell plays the innocent Richard Hanney who is caught up in a German plot to murder a foreign diplomat and start a war. This is a decent version of the novel but not the best. There is a good cast but the production and direction leaves it lacking in suspense. Karen Dotrice brings a touch of elegance.
